A Renault Duster EV is likely on the way after the electrified version of its sister car was confirmed by Dacia.  

The 2025 Renault Duster – orders for which recently opened in Australia – rides on the CMF-B platform – mainly used by Nissan, Renault and Mitsubishi – variants of which are capable of supporting internal combustion, hybrid and fully electric powertrains. 

The CEO of Dacia, Denis Le Vot, told Autocar that an EV Duster “will come in time”, all but confirming an electric variant of its Renault counterpart. 

Another Dacia product using the CMF-B architecture, the Sandero, is slated for an EV variant in 2027, with the electric Duster expected to be revealed after this. 

Prices for the 2025 Renault Duster start from $31,990 before on-road costs for the entry-level Duster Evolution, arriving with a 1.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. 

A mild hybrid – starting from $36,490 before on-road costs – is also available, paired with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine and a 6-speed manual gearbox in a 4X4 layout. 

With electrified Dusters already arriving on Australian shores, it is not entirely unfeasible that a full EV variant could be sold locally.

Further details on the Dacia and Renault Duster EV – such as an international release date or a potential Australian arrival – are yet to be confirmed.
