The battle of the warranties continues among carmakers, with Nissan now offering a factory-backed warranty of up to 10 years and 300,000 kilometres.

While the warranty is now the longest (by mileage) in Australia, it is dependent on the vehicle being serviced on time by Nissan’s dealership network for the entirety of that decade.

Both Mitsubishi and MG also offer 10-year warranties, however they are limited to 200,000 and 250,000 kilometres respectively.

Valid for all Nissan vehicles purchased new from 1 January 2025, the new warranty adds an additional five years on top of the brand’s standard five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty – meaning those who don’t service their vehicles with Nissan, or service outside the set schedule, will revert to the five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty.

Nissan has also allowed vehicles sold between 1 January 2021 and 31 December 2024 to sign up for the 10-year/300,000km warranty – even if it’s been serviced elsewhere – provided the vehicle meets a Vehicle Assessment before 31 December 2025, at a cost of $99.

Along with the “service-activated” 10-year/300,000km warranty, Nissan is also offering up to 10 years of roadside assistance, and a new five-year Flat Price Servicing Program.

The company says taking advantage of the capped-price servicing can save owners up to $1145 over the life of the program.

The five-year Flat Price Servicing Program applies to the first five services based on either 10,000km/12-month, 15,000km/12-month, or 20,000km/12-month intervals.
