The 2026 Suzuki Jimny has received a new digital speedometer and an updated infotainment system in Japan, joining a host of new safety suite additions. 

As reported by the Japanese Blog, Creative Trend, a new 4.2-inch digital display has been integrated into the instrument cluster on the updated Jimny, now sitting between the analogue gauges. 

Originally, the space was occupied by a black and white screen displaying basic information such as fuel economy, the outside temperature, and the current time. 

The new display reportedly contains the same crucial information as before, but also includes current vehicle speed, cruise control distance and speed settings, power and torque information, and a directional motion display. 

Furthermore, the nine-inch infotainment system – available as a manufacturer option in Japan – is also now compatible with the Suzuki Connect mobile app. 

As expected, the safety suite has also been updated, receiving collision mitigation, Dual Sensor Brake Support and Lane Departure Prevention while Adaptive Cruise Control and Rearward False Start Prevention are standard on the four-speed automatic variants.

However, the new features have pushed Jimny prices up in Japan.

For example, the price of the entry-level Jimny Sierra manual variant – the equivalent of the three-door Jimny sold in Australia – has increased by ¥309,100 (around $3,150 as of October 2025) to ¥2,271,500 (around $23,200), marking a 15.75 per cent increase. 

The remainder of the Sierra model grades have seen price rises ranging from ¥202,400 (around $2,000) to ¥301,400 (around $3,000).

The updated Jimny is set to go on sale in Japan on November 4th, while the updated version in Australia is slated for a 2026 arrival, although pricing and features for our market are yet to be officially confirmed.
