Toyota has introduced a series of safety and equipment upgrades to its 2025 Yaris hatchback and Yaris Cross SUV, now standard across all grades. The updates include an expanded suite of driver assistance systems and changes to improve environmental impact.

All variants of the Yaris hatch are now equipped with an acoustic vehicle alert system, designed to emit sound when operating in electric mode to alert pedestrians and other road users. The entry-level Ascent Sport grade also adds a parking support brake function that intervenes automatically if a rear obstacle is detected during reversing.

In addition, all Yaris hatch grades now utilise R1234yf refrigerant in the climate control system, which has a lower global warming potential than previous alternatives. The mid-grade SX variant now features 16-inch alloy wheels previously exclusive to the ZR grade.

The Yaris Cross also receives similar updates, with every grade now including the acoustic vehicle alert system. The GX variant adds parking support brake, blind spot monitor with safe exit assist, and heated exterior mirrors.

Both vehicles share the same 85kW 1.5-litre hybrid system in their front-wheel drive variants, combining a petrol engine with an electric motor. All-wheel drive Yaris Cross variants gain an additional rear motor providing extra traction in low-grip conditions.

Pricing for the 2025 Yaris starts at $28,990 for the Ascent Sport, with the SX and ZR priced at $32,390 and $34,590 respectively. The Yaris Cross range begins at $31,790 for the GX 2WD, with top-end AWD versions like the Urban and GXL reaching $39,930.

Optional extras include premium paint at $575 and two-tone paint for select grades priced at $1350.
