Toyota has officially launched the all-new 2025 LandCruiser Prado in Australia. This latest generation aims to build on the model’s long-standing reputation for durability while incorporating modern technology and enhanced comfort. The Prado remains a popular choice in Australia, known for balancing off-road capability with everyday usability. With the introduction of this new model, Toyota has made some significant changes, both in terms of performance and available features.

The 2025 LandCruiser Prado is built on Toyota’s updated TNGA-F platform, also used by its larger sibling, the LandCruiser 300 Series. This new architecture has resulted in a stiffer and more robust frame, designed to enhance both on-road refinement and off-road durability. The vehicle is now longer and wider, providing increased interior space while maintaining its off-road-focused design.

All variants come equipped with Toyota’s 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine, now complemented by a 48-volt V-Active mild-hybrid system. The engine produces 150kW of power and 500Nm of torque, paired with a new 8-speed automatic transmission. The full-time all-wheel-drive system includes a dual-range transfer case and a centre lockable Torsen limited-slip differential to handle various terrains.

The new Prado lineup offers five trim levels: GX, GXL, VX, Altitude, and Kakadu. Each grade comes with different specifications and features, aiming to cater to a wide range of customer preferences, from family-friendly urban use to serious off-road expeditions.
