TrueEV has confirmed XPENG’s 2026 Australian model roadmap, detailing local arrival timing for the updated G6, X9 people mover and the new G9L SUV. The distributor says XPENG now has more than 2,000 vehicles on Australian roads, supported by 18 retail locations across the country.

TrueEV describes the 2026 rollout as part of a strategy to better align Australia with XPENG’s global product cycles. All local specifications will be announced closer to launch, but international versions of the vehicles provide guidance on the types of configurations likely to be offered globally.

The updated G6 has received full Australian Design Rule approval and is scheduled to launch locally in late Q1 2026, with first deliveries expected from Q2. Overseas versions of the revised G6 offer increased power for the rear-wheel-drive models and introduce a new dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup.

International figures show the rear-drive variants producing between roughly 185kW and 218kW depending on battery size, while the new AWD configuration pairs a rear motor with a front motor for around 358kW combined.

Battery options shown overseas range from approximately 68kWh to 80kWh, with claimed WLTP driving ranges between about 455km and 525km for rear-drive versions and around 510km for the all-wheel-drive model.

International data also shows DC charging capability listed at up to around 450kW depending on variant. The G6 now features listed towing capacity of 750kg unbraked and 1500kg braked. Exterior changes shown globally include a new full-width light bar, revised spoiler and updated wheel designs, while inside the central display increases to 15.6 inches and is accompanied by a revised steering wheel, updated instrument cluster and new seat designs.

The X9 people mover is confirmed for a mid-2026 Australian arrival, with a formal announcement expected in Q1. Overseas, the latest version of the X9 is offered with larger battery options, including lithium-iron-phosphate and nickel-manganese-cobalt packs of between roughly 95kWh and 105kWh. Claimed ranges under international test cycles vary from about 650km for mid-spec variants to around 740km for long-range versions, depending on configuration.

All overseas grades retain a single-motor front-wheel-drive layout, with an all-wheel-drive performance variant also offered in some markets. International versions also show updates such as active rear-steering to reduce the turning circle, revised interior materials, upgraded sound insulation and comfort features across all three rows.

These include reclining third-row seating, large rear-screen entertainment systems and various power-operated convenience functions. TrueEV says early interest is coming from family buyers, mobility operators and fleet customers.

XPENG’s new G9L SUV is expected to be revealed in Q3 2026 ahead of local deliveries in Q4. International examples of the broader G9 range show updated powertrains, with single-motor models producing around 258kW and dual-motor versions offering up to approximately 423kW combined.

Two battery options are listed overseas - around 79kWh and 93kWh - with reported driving ranges between roughly 625km and 725km depending on variant and test cycle. The SUV also moves to an updated software-based driver-assistance platform internationally, operating without LiDAR but retaining an extensive array of cameras and radar sensors. Overseas cabin layouts include dual 14.96-inch displays, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, expanded connectivity and newly introduced interior colour schemes.

TrueEV also confirmed that XPENG has two to three additional global models in advanced development for future release. “These new vehicles reflect XPENG’s long-term ambitions for the Australian market,” said Jason Clarke, CEO of TrueEV. “Our close alignment with the global team ensures local customers benefit from the latest innovation with minimal delay.”
