The Polestar 3 has been recalled in Australia due to an issue with the bumper wiring harness, affecting 172 examples of the large electric SUV. 

The recall affects Polestar 3s built between 2024 and 2025, with a manufacturing defect allowing moisture to enter the bumper wiring harness. The recall applies to all variants of the Polestar 3.

“Due to a manufacturing defect, moisture may enter the bumper wiring harness causing corrosion. This could result in reduced efficiency of the power assisted steering and a loss of safety systems such as pilot and park assist features. Additionally, unable to restart the vehicle” the recall notice reads. 

Regarding potential hazards, the notice states that loss of these functions “could increase the risk of an accident causing injury or death to vehicle occupants and other road users.” 

Customers are being urged to contact Polestar Customer Support or their nearest Polestar Partner to have their vehicles inspected and have any defects rectified free of charge. 

This is the first time the Polestar 3 has been recalled in Australia since it arrived in the local market in late-2024.
