The upcoming LDV Terron 9 ute series, featuring both electric and diesel variants, has entered its final validation testing phase in Australia. Two prototypes have arrived for testing, marking a significant step towards their anticipated mid-2025 showroom debut.

LDV Automotive has confirmed the Terron 9 will be sold alongside the existing T60 ute range, offering Australian buyers more choices in the competitive ute segment. Testing has taken place on diverse routes across New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland, focusing on validating advanced safety features like speed-sign recognition and lane-keeping assistance.

LDV Australia General Manager Dinesh Chinnappa emphasised the importance of these tests for ensuring the vehicle's readiness for Australian conditions. The broader product range aims to cater to both traditional diesel ute buyers and emerging markets interested in electric utes, particularly fleet operators and mining companies seeking factory-built EV solutions.

The LDV Terron 9 is larger than the current T60 Plus, boasting increased dimensions across length, width, height, and wheelbase. Specific details about pricing and specifications will be revealed closer to the launch date. Despite modest sales of the pioneering LDV eT60, the company has high expectations for the eTerron 9, highlighting advancements in electric ute technology.

Pending successful testing, the first deliveries of the LDV Terron 9 series are expected in the second quarter of 2025, providing Australian buyers with a broader and modernised ute lineup.
