KGM Australia (previously, SsangYong) has introduced the all-new MY25 Torres SUV to its lineup, marking the brand's latest entry in the medium SUV segment. Available in three trims — ELX, Adventure, and Ultimate — the Torres will be priced from $38,000 drive away. The model is set to arrive in Australia in October 2024.

The Torres has been designed with a focus on practicality, offering a spacious boot with 703 liters of capacity in its standard five-seat configuration, which can expand to 1,526 liters when the rear seats are folded down. Exterior features include angular wheel arch moldings, a wide frontal design, three-dimensional LED headlights, and metallic accents on the C-pillars.

Inside, the Torres is equipped with dual 12.3-inch digital displays for both the instrument cluster and infotainment. The dashboard layout is modern, featuring brushed copper-effect trim, and the center console offers additional storage space. The rear seats recline up to 32.5° for added flexibility, and the vehicle provides over one meter of headroom in both the front and rear seating areas.

The Torres is equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features. Standard across all trims are systems such as Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping Assist, and eight airbags. Additionally, the body construction uses 78% high-tensile steel to minimize deformation during collisions. Higher trims, like the Adventure and Ultimate, come with additional safety technologies like Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Warning.

The vehicle is powered by a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine that produces 120kW of power and 280Nm of torque. It comes with a six-speed Aisin automatic transmission. The top-tier Ultimate trim features an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system, which automatically adjusts torque distribution when wheel slip is detected. For improved off-road capability, the AWD system also includes an 'AWD Lock' mode for equal power distribution to all four wheels.
