Hyundai IONIQ 6 N Confirmed for Australia, Launching in 2026
Hyundai IONIQ 6 N confirmed for Australia in 2026, likely using IONIQ 5 N’s 478kW AWD setup — likely Hyundai's most expensive N model yet.
Hyundai has confirmed the high-performance IONIQ 6 N will be coming to Australia in 2026. The vehicle was teased at the Seoul Mobility Show, with its full global reveal scheduled for July.
"The IONIQ 6 N is coming next year. It's an important halo model for us," a Hyundai Australia spokesperson told CarSauce. "It'll follow the facelifted IONIQ 6, which arrives in the second half of this year."
While final powertrain specifications remain unconfirmed, the IONIQ 6 N is widely expected to carry over the dual-motor all-wheel drive setup from the IONIQ 5 N. That powertrain delivers 448 kW (601 hp) as standard, with a 10-second burst of up to 478 kW (641 hp) using N Grin Boost mode. Torque increases from 740 Nm to 770 Nm in this mode, and Hyundai claims a 0–100 km/h time of 3.4 seconds.
The system is paired with an 84.0 kWh battery and supports DC fast charging at up to 238 kW. If the IONIQ 6 N follows the same formula, it will compete with the fastest EVs in its segment.
In Australia, the IONIQ 6 N is likely to be priced above the IONIQ 5 N, which currently starts from $111,383 before on-road costs — making it the most expensive N product to date.
Hyundai Australia has confirmed the IONIQ 6 N will join the local lineup following its international debut, with further details to be revealed closer to launch.
Hyundai sold 57 units of the IONIQ 5 N in Australia during Q1 2025, alongside 353 units of the i20 N, 583 of the i30 N hatch, and 237 of the i30 Sedan N.
