The 2024 Mini Countryman John Cooper Works has been unveiled, showcasing a sportier flagship with refined power and a luxurious price tag.

Set to hit Australian shores in the third quarter of 2024, this model has witnessed a subtle decrease in its European engine performance, now featuring a 221kW and 400Nm turbocharged 2.0-litre engine.

Despite the reduction from the previous 225kW/450Nm, the vehicle maintains its dynamic acceleration, achieving 0-100km/h in 5.4 seconds.

Aligning with stringent European emissions regulations, the Countryman JCW has swapped its eight-speed automatic for a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Interestingly, this powertrain mirrors that of the BMW X1 M35i xDrive, yet Australian and US versions of the BMW boast higher outputs. Fuel efficiency remains a strong point, with a consumption of 8.0-8.6L/100km on the WLTP cycle.

The price reflects the Countryman's premium stature, with the German price pointing to a potential $100,000 cost for Australian consumers, a significant leap from the current models priced up to $75,946.

This SUV is not just about performance; it's also about presence and comfort.

The interior echoes the Countryman range's minimalist, high-tech ethos, enhanced with sport seats and striking red accents.

Practicality is not overlooked, with a boot space of 460 liters, expandable to 1450 liters.

Aesthetic enhancements include 19- or 20-inch alloy wheels, broader tyres, and exclusive Chilli Red detailing, paired with the new BMW M-style tricolour JCW badge.

These features not only improve the SUV's handling but also differentiate it visually in the competitive market.
