Tesla has announced that the new Model Y Performance is now available to order in Australia, with pricing set from $89,400 AUD before government charges. First local deliveries are expected to begin in late Q4 2025.

The vehicle sits below the luxury car tax threshold, which means it is eligible for the government’s fringe benefits tax exemption for EVs when acquired under a novated lease.

For New Zealand customers, the Model Y Performance is priced from $100,900 NZD before on-road costs.

Australian and New Zealand models will be sourced from Tesla’s Gigafactory in Berlin-Brandenburg, Germany.

The Model Y Performance follows the updated RWD and AWD variants that launched earlier in 2025, bringing styling, technology, and hardware upgrades.

Exterior updates include a redesigned front and rear fascia, carbon fibre rear spoiler, 21-inch Arachnid 2.0 forged wheels, red brake calipers, and Performance badging.

Interior additions include carbon fibre trim, sports front seats with heating and ventilation, and a larger 16-inch central touchscreen with increased resolution.

Underneath, the Model Y Performance gains upgraded springs, stabiliser bars, and bushings, alongside Tesla’s new adaptive suspension with Standard, Sport, and Track settings.

Drive modes can be customised through the centre display to adjust suspension, traction, and stability settings.

Power is delivered by a dual-motor system producing 343kW, enabling a 0–100km/h time of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 250km/h.

Range is rated at 580km WLTP, supported by a new battery pack with higher-density cells.

The Model Y Performance will be offered in five colours: Pearl White Multi-Coat, Quicksilver, Ultra Red, Diamond Black, and Stealth Grey.
