2026 MGU9 Ute Prices Teased: GWM Cannon Alpha Rival Will Start from $55,000
MGU9 prices will range from $55,000 to $65,000, but it remains unclear if these figures are before on-road costs or drive-away prices.
MG has teased the price range for the MGU9 ute, ranging from $55,000 to $65,000, according to the brand. However, details remain scarce on specific variant pricing and whether or not this range represents prices before on-road costs or drive-away pricing.
This makes the entry-level MGU9 more expensive than the LDV Terron 9, with which it shares a platform, with the latter starting at $53,674 drive-away, rising to $58,937 for the range-topping variant.
However, the MGU9’s equipment list differs from its LDV Terron 9 counterpart, with standard features including vegan leather seats including fold-down rear seats, front double-wishbone and rear multi-link suspension, and a two-step electrically folding tailgate.
The MGU9 is also likely to be more expensive than the GWM Cannon Alpha, with the non-hybrid Lux and Ultra variants priced at $51,990 and $57,990 drive-away, respectively.
The MGU9 range will consist of three variants: the entry-level Explore, the Explore X and the Explore Pro, each powered by a 2.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive.
The MGU9 boasts a 3.5-tonne towing capacity. However, a maximum payload figure is yet to be confirmed.
Official details on the MGU9’s Australian launch date and final pricing, and specifications are yet to be confirmed.
