2026 Hyundai Palisade Confirmed For Aussie Launch as Hybrid Only
Hyundai's 2025 Palisade Hybrid lands in Australia Q4 with 246 kW, more tech, 7–8 seats, no diesel, and a focus on safety and efficiency.
Hyundai Australia has confirmed the launch of the Palisade for Q4 2025, stating the SUV will debut with a hybrid powertrain, while diesel variants will no longer be available.
The new Palisade hybrid, revealed at the Seoul Mobility Show, features an advanced hybrid system comprising a 2.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 192 kW and 353 Nm of torque, paired with an electric motor delivering an additional 54 kW and 264 Nm.
The total combined system output is rated at 246 kW. The hybrid setup includes a 300-volt lithium-ion battery pack and vehicle-to-load (V2L) technology, which allows the vehicle to power external devices. Hyundai has not yet detailed official fuel consumption figures for Australia, but international figures suggest a combined fuel efficiency of approximately 7.2 L/100km.
Alongside the hybrid, Hyundai Australia is assessing the introduction of a standalone 2.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine. International specifications indicate this engine produces up to 207 kW at 5,800 rpm and 422 Nm of torque from 1,700 to 4,000 rpm, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Fuel efficiency varies by specification, with a combined figure of up to 10.3 L/100km for a 2WD model with 18-inch wheels.
In Australia, Hyundai plans to offer 7-seater and possibly 8-seater configurations. A 9-seater version available in other regions is not expected locally. The anticipated sales ratio between Palisade and the Santa Fe is predicted to remain around 60:40 or 55:45.
Trim names are expected to continue, including the Calligraphy variant, which internationally features premium details and technology.
Key features in the new Palisade include:
