2025 MG5 Range Reduced, New Entry Variant Pricing
The 2025 MG 5 is now only available in Essence trim, priced at $32,990 drive away.
Pricing for the updated 2025 MG MG5 is here, with the budget sedan now starting from $32,990 driveway.
The naturally-aspirated entry-level Vibe variant has been dropped, with the turbocharged Essence variant now the only trim level being offered for MG’s sedan.
This makes the 1.5-litre turbo four-cylinder the sole powertrain option, with outputs of 119kW and 250Nm.
Previously, the MG 5 Vibe started at $24,990 drive away, while the Essence trim level started at $29,990.
While the Vibe will no longer be offered, as of June 2025 it is still in run-out.
Notably, the 2025 MG 5 arrives with an updated safety package — as promised — after it received a zero-star ANCAP safety rating in 2023.
The new safety package includes front and rear outboard seatbelt pre-tensioners, seatbelt reminders for both front and rear seats, an updated AEB (Autonomous Emergency Breaking) system, lane-keep assist, emergency lane-keeping and lane departure warning.
The MG 5 has since been retested by ANCAP and upgraded to three stars; offering improved adult, child and vulnerable road user protection ratings for cars sold from June 2025 onwards.
Styling and interior updates were unveiled for the facelifted MG 5 in 2024, however at this stage, it seems the new car coming to Australian showrooms will arrive without these updates.
The 2025 MG 5 will be arriving in Australian dealerships soon according to MG.
