The 2025 Kia K4 has launched in Australia as a replacement for the outgoing Kia Cerato. Buyers can choose from five variants: the K4 S, the K4 S with safety pack, K4 Sport, K4 Sport+, and the range-topping K4 GT-Line.

The line-up is priced from $30,590 before on-road costs for the K4 S – approximately $3000 more than the Cerato S it replaces – with the K4 GT-Line topping out at $42,990 before on-road costs.

The Kia K4 is powered by a 2.0-litre non-turbo four-cylinder petrol engine sending 112kW and 192Nm to the front wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission – with the exception of the more powerful K4 GT-Line, which uses a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine, making 142kW and 264Nm, mated to an eight-speed torque-converter automatic.

All variants but the entry-level model get dual 12.3-inch digital screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment – with the K4 S instead getting a 4.0-inch LCD screen ahead of the driver – while the dual-zone climate control is controlled by a dedicated 5.0-inch screen (except on the K4 S, which has single-zone air conditioning). Kia also offers over-the-air (OTA) updates, allowing the vehicle to receive the latest software and GPS maps remotely.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto are standard across the Kia K4 range in Australia, while the GT-Line gains wireless smartphone charging and ambient lighting.

The differences between the variants is subtle – the K4 S comes with cloth seats and 16-inch alloy wheels, the K4 Sport gets cloth seats and 17-inch alloys, the K4 Sport+ upgrades to artificial leather, and the K4 GT-Line gets artificial leather, 18-inch wheels, and the turbocharged powertrain, along with some additional interior features.

Standard across the range is forward collision-avoidance assist, smart cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-keep assist, lane follow assist, multi-collision braking, blind-spot collision avoidance assist, driver attention warning, intelligent speed limit assist, rear-view monitor, automatic high beams, and a centre airbag (among others).

The K4 S with safety pack upgrades the interior to the K4 Sport (while retaining the 16-inch alloy wheels), while also gaining ‘expanded automatic emergency braking’ (AEB), which adds junction turning and crossing and direct/oncoming lane change direction functionality.

Available in eight different exterior colours, the 2025 Kia K4 is on sale in Australia now.
